History

Sistemi e Telematica (SeT) was established in 1985 on the initiative of the Genoa Port Authority. After making a name for itself on domestic and international markets as a provider of freight and passenger transport solutions, SeT is now the Elsag competence center for ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) applications in the transport and intermodal segments.

Certification, Research & Development

The SeT R&D department ensures that the company's products and solutions remain at the cutting edge of technology and frequently contributes to top level European research projects.

SeT is certified compliant with European quality standard ISO9001 Vision 2000, with specific reference to the design, development and supply of software systems.

Elsag and SeT are also working together to define CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) procedures, already in use at major North American software developers and rapidly gaining in popularity in Europe, addressed to the constant improvement of business processes with a view to:

reducing product defects
reducing the cost of solutions
increasing product quality and customer satisfaction
increasing business competitiveness in the ICT market.
