EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) or PCS (Port Community System)

The service, which is available throughout Italy, enables a community of users to exchange electronic documents in a controlled and secure manner.

The service also offers a personalised format translation tool, so that both standard (EDIFACT, XML) and private (flat file) format documents can be handled.

In addition to translation and forwarding functions, the system also provides a special web interface for certain documents, allowing users with limited IT resources to complete them online.

Dangerous goods

This service provides web-based transit permit management functions (in, out, lay-up) for hazardous goods travelling by road through the port.

Users require Internet access only to apply for a permit from the Port Authority simply by filling out a web form. Likewise the permit (or refusal) for the vehicle in question is issued by the Port Authority in electronic form.
